Utilising a stack of pre and post production, we created a typography based motion graphics piece that was rear-projected behind the group. After filming their performance (with guest MC – WISE from the infamous Teriyaki Boyz) we set upon the post-production. This involved re-layering the motion graphics over the cut, adding camera moves, and making the grade punch.

A small crew headed to Welcome Bay, Te Awanui’s hometown Marae and filmed on 16mm with available light only. We just wanted to capture the Nesian’s doing their thing (this is where they go to write) and connecting with the people who give them the support to do what they do.

Big, big thanks to Crighton Bone and Jonny Yarell especially who really went above and beyond to make this happen, as well as to Che Fu and Cydel for guest starring and just being legends.
